Spark is a self-hypnosis app made by Emmaus Fund Incorporated ("we," "us"), Locust Valley, New York. This policy explains what information Spark uses, why, and the choices you have. Questions: ceo@sparkhypnosis.com.
The short version
- Your conversations and sessions are stored on your iPhone.
- To write your session, the words you type or speak are sent to our AI and voice providers, used only to create your session.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- You can delete your data at any time.
Information you give us
What you tell Spark. When you chat with Spark or describe a session, we use what you share, such as your goals, what's on your mind, and the details you want in your session. Please share only what you're comfortable with. You may choose to share personal topics, such as stress, sleep, faith, or family. We use that information only to create your sessions.
Your preferences. Goals you choose during onboarding, your first name if you give it, preferred voice, session length, and background sound.
Messages to support. If you email us, we keep your message so we can help you.
Information collected automatically
- An anonymous install ID so we can apply session limits and keep your plan working. It isn't linked to your name.
- App usage and diagnostics, such as which screens are opened, sessions started or finished, and crash reports. We use this to fix problems and improve Spark.
- Advertising measurement. Spark uses Meta's software development kit to understand whether our ads lead to installs, trials, and subscriptions. On iPhone, this follows Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules, and you can turn tracking off in your iPhone's settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment card. Apple tells us whether your subscription is active so we can unlock your plan.
Who helps us run Spark
We share information only with service providers that help us operate Spark, and only for that purpose:
- OpenAI generates Spark's replies and your session scripts from what you share.
- Speechify turns your session script into spoken audio.
- Cloudflare hosts our servers and stores session audio so you can replay it.
- Apple handles purchases and subscriptions.
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers help us understand how the app is working.
- Meta measures how our ads perform.
These providers handle data under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of our users.
How long we keep it
Your conversations and sessions stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app. Session audio stored on our servers is kept so you can replay it and is deleted when you ask us to delete your data. Usage and diagnostic data is kept only as long as needed to run and improve Spark.
Your choices
- Delete your data: delete conversations and sessions in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your iPhone. To delete server-stored audio and records, email ceo@sparkhypnosis.com from the app's Support link.
- Ad tracking: turn it off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iPhone.
- Access or correction: email us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Adults only
Spark is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used Spark, contact us and we'll delete their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't share anything you'd be uncomfortable sharing with an app.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and, when appropriate, let you know in the app.
